White Linen Night Summer 11

A summertime tradition, the 17th anniversary of Whitney White Linen Night, sponsored by Whitney National Bank and produced by the Contemporary Arts Center, drew thousands of party-goers. The evening included exhibits, exciting live music, fine cuisine and specialty drinks.
Ogden After Hours

Happy Hour takes on a new meaning with Ogden After Hours at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Guests enjoy live music from musicians who want to showcase new work or break into the New Orleans market while viewing the gallery and partaking in trunk shows and book signings. Each week a kid's art activity table features a different arts and craft project just for the kids. The event is sponsored by Republic National Distributing and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation.
Whitney White Linen Night Summer 10

Art Openings and an Outdoor Celebration took place from 6 to 9pm. There were cash bars, cuisine and treats. The music was by the New Orleans Indie Rock Collective: The Blue Party, Booty Trove, Eddie Burke, The Craft Brothers, Giant Cloud, Andrew Duhon, Loren Murrell, The Revivalists, Silent Cinema and Sun Hotel. The event took place at the 300 to 800 blocks on Julia Street, Camp Street and the New Orleans Arts District.

The New Orleans art community celebrated the release of the Fall issue of ART New Orleans Magazine. Guests enjoyed the opening reception of The Space in Between by Bernd Haussmann and live music by the Gyrators. Author Jennifer Shaw was also on hand signing her book, Hurricane Story.
Jammin' on Julia ™ Spring 11

The 6th annual Jammin' on Julia™ street festival offered up true New Orleans fashion with food, music and art. The event opens New Orleans' celebrated spring festival season. The annual fundraiser of The New Orleans Arts District (NOAD) is presented by the Downtown Development District and was sponsored by Southern Eagle Beverages and Szambelan Vodka.
Tableau Vivant: A Wandering Retrospective

A selection of historic tableaux vivants were alongside specially conceived tableaux by Tai Shani (UK), Audrey Reynolds (UK), Winnie Cott (FR), Anna Barham (UK) and the New Orleans Society for Tableau Vivant. The show took place on a flatbed truck that proceeded slowly up Julia St., making stops between the river and St. Charles Avenue. At each stop a different tableau vivant was performed. The show (on Nov. 6th) was repeated the following weekend in the St. Claude Arts District.

Member Galleries of the New Orleans Arts District Association kicked off the spring cultural season with Latin musicians, Freddy Omar and the Tulane Folklore Dancers (they danced while strolling the street). The Arts District recognized contributions made by Latin Americans who add to the culture of New Orleans. Presented by The Downtown Development District, sponsored by the Renaissance Arts Hotel.
